For someone who loves dance, I see embarrassingly little of it in the city.  So I was more than pleased to have the opp. to experience some  Urban dance at the Next Stage Festival. Presented by BreakinGound (a collective of Urban dance artists), Urban Myth showcases various dance styles in individual, short pieces.  The show really takes off at “Apocalypse”, a number inspired by the Will Smith movie I am Legend (hold judgement; it works), and continues with Caroline ‘Lady ‘C’  Fraser who simultaneously provides grace and grit to the stage. It culminates with “Good People/Bad Things”, a number outlining violent challenges that can face even the most well-intentioned individual.

Urban Myth is on at the Factory Theatre Mainspace until January 17 For times and tix click here.
