HONEST AESOP’S FABLES has had itself some sold out shows, and now I understand why.
This new arrangement of “Aesop’s Fables” re-tells different stories, such as “The Lion and The Mouse” and “The Tortoise and The Hare”, in new ways by using music and easier language so the audience can relate. The show uses the perfect amount of references to modern times, without ruining the show. HONEST AESOP’S FABLES also kept the attention of the full house of children and parents while everyone had a good laugh.
Along with the play itself, the set design was also great. I found it to be interesting and simple. Cardboard boxes sit on the stage as well as three chests, one of which the actors appear out of. For the different scenes, certain elements are changed on and off the stage. The costume element of the play was also simple, but it looked good. I thought that these were great ideas; it’s good to keep things simple sometimes.
